5 Types of Cloud Deployment

The Cloud comes in 5 different forms. Axus Technologies can help determine the best kind for your IT needs.

The Cloud has proven to be more than useful in 2020 and previous years as a flexible and efficient IT solution for businesses. Whether your company is large or small, the cloud allows one to safely store data and collaborate in countless ways. The Cloud doesn’t come in just one format, though. There are five types of cloud deployment one should know.

Public Cloud

The public cloud is fantastic for companies that need massive amounts of storage and power for collaborative projects. Two examples of the public Cloud are Amazon and Google. Both allow anyone on the Internet to access their platforms and use services either individually or as a group, and allow customers to use Cloud storage on-demand. The downsides are that users rely on one Cloud provider alone, and should that provider fail or make drastic changes, they will have to make a significant shift, and fast.

Private Cloud

The private cloud has its pros and cons, but works best for businesses that require tight security. Private clouds for individual businesses are becoming more popular, as employees can safely access the business network remotely from home or anywhere else with an Internet connection. Businesses with a private cloud will have to either manage their own software and infrastructure or hire a third party like Axus Technologies to manage them.

Hybrid Cloud

Hybrid clouds combine the benefits of both the private and public clouds. This type of cloud deployment allows people to work within the security and privacy of the private cloud and submit data to the public when desirable. One main type of hybrid cloud works in just this way through a process called “cloudbursting,” in which the private cloud is the main model and the public one houses data overflow. The second type works similarly, except it deploys non-essential applications to the public cloud.

Community Cloud

The community cloud is similar to the public cloud, but often works on a specialized scale. Professionals in the same field like healthcare or government, for example, might use a community cloud to collaborate within a private zone of the Internet.

Multi-Cloud

A multi-cloud is one of the best ways to customize your cloud deployment experience. Working from a private cloud, your provider connects different public cloud services. Each company department functions differently, so it may be more effective to use different models within the same structure. With so many cloud deployment options, Axus Technologies can help pair your company with the right kind.
